The Resident Services Center, or "RSC" as it is familiarly known, is located at 2751 "A" Street.
It provides a Resident Activity Room, Wood Shop, Greenhouse, and the Mary Dadisman Sewing Center.
RESIDENT ACTIVITY ROOM
This room is equipped with kitchen facilities and is available for small groups of approximately 25 for residents and staff.
GREENHOUSE
The greenhouse is for residents to use for starting plants, as a nursery for recovering plants and other greenhouse uses. Gardening tools are available for use in the greenhouse.
FABRIC CENTER
The Fabric Center houses a group of volunteer women who meet monthly to sew and mend for Woods Health Services. They also do mending and minor alterations as requested for residents. Large tables on which to cut from fabrics are available for resident use. A sewing machine can also be made available for resident's personal sewing or mending at the Sewing Center.
WOOD SHOP
The Wood Shop is located at the northwest corner of the Resident Services Center. All residents are welcome to make new items, do repairs or create items to sell at the annual Country Fair. Proceeds from items sold at the Country Fair, or during the year, are contributed to one or more of the funds which benefit Hillcrest residents. Training sessions are periodically scheduled.
OTHER RESIDENT ACTIVITIES
The Resident Services Center is the home for other resident activities such as a Lapidary Shop, Arts and Crafts Studio, and a Computer & Digital Photography Lab. Hillcrest has three vegetable gardens reserved exclusively for residents; one of these is located adjacent to the RSC.
