Annual Good Samaritan Dinner
Friends Helping Friends

Hillcrest residents and associates
would like to thank you for your support
of the 2008 Good Samaritan Dinner.

Dinner Event Sponsor –
Inter Valley Health Plan

The Good Samaritan Dinner, Friends Helping Friends, was held at the Candlelight Pavilion in Claremont on April 4, 2008.  The dinner was a great success.  Guests enjoyed the theater presentation of the musical Smoke on the Mountain, a delicious meal, and the fun of the annual Hawaii trip raffle.

The expectations of the Good Samaritan Dinner Committee were exceeded by the generosity of the community and the Hillcrest residents.  This year’s committee was co-chaired by Don Kendrick of Don Kendrick Real Estate and Brian McNerney, CEO of the La Verne Chamber of Commerce.  Other committee members are Liza Bolding, Allstate Insurance; Brenda Clark, Pomona Valley Hospital Medical Center; Henry Ford, Smith Barney; Renee Graves, Vicenti, Lloyd & Stutzman, LLP; Linda Hunt, PFF Bank & Trust; Leona Ikenberry, Hillcrest resident; Betty Mellard, Hillcrest resident; Larry Rhinehart, Waste Management; Robert Rodriguez, Hillcrest resident; Paula Stanley, Hillcrest resident; Cal Stephens, La Verne Rotary; Arun Tolia, Express Cash; and Hillcrest Staff Larry Boles, Director of Development and Jody Gmeiner, Associate Director of Development.

This year the dinner resulted in a net profit to the Good Samaritan Fund of over $77,000.  Years ago this community decided they never wanted anyone to have to face total poverty because they grew old and outlived their financial resources due to circumstances beyond their control.  Through the generosity of this community of residents, friends, family members, business associates, vendors and other donors, we are able to assist these residents through the Good Samaritan Fund.

Your support of the Good Samaritan Fund through the Good Samaritan Dinner is greatly appreciated.

For more information on the Good Samaritan Dinner, please contact Jody Gmeiner, Assistant Director of Development and Planned Giving at (909) 392-4326.

All proceeds benefit the Hillcrest Good Samaritan Fund

Through the Hillcrest Good Samaritan Dinner, and our “Friends Helping Friends” program, peace of mind and security prevail. This year the proceeds from this gala event will be deposited into the Hillcrest Good Samaritan Fund, thereby making these funds available to meet the immediate needs of our residents who have outlived their financial resources.
